Local Activities/Events

 

January 14-16, 2006 – 32nd Annual Model Railroad Show

*This weekend: Saturday – Monday*

Presented in cooperation with National Model Railroad Association, Pacific Northwest Region, and 4th Division. Located at Pacific Science Center, under the five white arches near the Space Needle, corner of Denny and Broad. Hours are 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. Cost is Adults: $10, Seniors 65+: $8.50, Ages 3-13: $7.00. www.4dpnr.org

 

January 21, 2006 – SP&S Railway Historical Society Swap Meet – Located at Holiday Inn (Portland Airport) Convention Center (8439 NE Columbia Blvd.). Hours are 10am to 3 pm. This is a major fund-raiser for the Society and it is always a great show.

 

February 25, 2006 – 21 st Annual Railroad Swap Meet – Hosted by The Willamette Model Railroad Club. Located at Camp Withycombe Armory in Clackamas, Oregon. Hours are from 10 AM to 3 PM. Admission and parking is free!

 

May 20, 2006 – 2nd Annual Rails by the Bay - Pacific Northwest Railroad Prototype Modelers Meet – Located in Bellingham, Washington at The Hampton Inn Bellington, Airport Location, Fox Hall. Hours are 9 AM to 6 PM. This RPM event is open to all modelers and will feature railroads of the Pacific Northwest, but models of all prototypes are welcome. You’ve heard about it before, now come see what RPM and Free-Mo are about. This meet includes Model displays and dioramas, clinics, Free-Mo modular layout display area, and Social Discussion area.

 

Admission is $18, but if you bring in at least one model or module to display (finished or not!) you will receive a discounted admission at $15. Website: http://www.northwestrpm.com and Email: info@northwestrpm.com.

 

Saturday & Sunday, April 8th-9th, 2006 – 18th Annual Model Railroad Show & Swap Meet – Located at Lane County Fairgrounds 796 West 13th Avenue, Eugene, Oregon. The hours on Saturday are 10AM to 5PM and the hours on Sunday are 10AM to 4PM. For exhibitors the setup times are Saturday at 7:30AM & Sunday at 8:30AM. There is an optional setup day Friday, April 7 th, 2006 from 10AM to 10PM. Featuring: Live educational clinics – Trains of all gauges – Locomotive Simulator for Public Education – Educational Videos – Refreshments – Trains, Parts, Novelties for Sale – Operation LifeSaver Literature Distributed

Admission:         Adults: $5.00 each          Tickets are good for both days

                           Kids under 12 are free with an adult

                           $10 Early Bird Special (9AM)
