*NEXT WEEKEND*Saturday & Sunday, Sept 16th-17th, 2006 – Deschutes Steam Excursion – Sponsored by Northwest Rail Museum the SP #4449 is making a roundtrip from Portland to Bend, OR. This trip takes about 8 hours each way so be prepared to leave early in the morning. All the tickets include transportation, a continental breakfast and lunch, and shuttles to overnight accommodations in hotels at Bend. *NEXT WEEKEND*Saturday & Sunday, Sept 16th-17th, 2006 – Tillamook Turn – These are two all-day excursions. The excursion will run through the Coastal Mountains and along the beach to Tillamook. On the 16th the excursion will run from Banks to Tillamook and on the 17th it will run from Tillamook to Banks. Saturday, September 23rd, 2006 – Westside Train Show & Swap Meet – The show will take place in Forest Grove, OR at the National Guard Armory from 10:00AM until 4:00PM. Admission will be $4.00 for general admission and for children 12 & under it will be free. Parking will be free and there will be drawings for gift certificates. Saturday, October 14th, 2006 – 33rd Annual Great Train Swap Meet – The swap meet will be held at Hudson’s Bay High School Commons from 9:30AM to 3:30PM. Reserve your swap tables early at $18 a piece. It is a new larger Facility with free parking. Admission for adults is $4, for students $2 and for children under 6 it is free with a paid adult. Setup begins two hours prior to show time. Saturday, October 28th, 2006 – First Annual All Brass Model Train Show – The show will be located at Shilo Inn Airport Convention Center just East of I-205 on Airport Way The show hours will be from 10:00AM to 3:00PM. Vendors setup from 8:00AM to 10:00AM and close out from 3:00PM to 5:00PM. Soldering and Detailing Clinics will take place. Soldering for Beginners at 8:30AM, Mechanical Tooling at 9:15AM, and Detailing for Beginners from 2:00PM to 3:00PM. 8’ Vendor tables are available for $50.00. Consignment Tables are available for a 10% fee. There will be a test track for most scales. For Shilo Inn room reservations call 1-800-222-2244. Airport Shuttle is available. Don’t forget to ask for the Show Room rate and mention the Brass Show. Saturday, October 28th, 2006 – Southwest Washington Model Railroaders Open House – The Open House will take place from 10:00AM till 4:00PM. There is no charge. The location of this event is 8100 E. Mill Plain Blvd, Vancouver, WA in the building behind Safe Harbor Nazarene Church with Bordering Parking Lot off 82nd Ave. A can of food will be appreciated.
