*THIS MONTH*Every Weekend in November, 2006 – Portland, Oregon – Mt. Hood Model Engineers 28^th Annual Model Train Club Open House. This open house will take place every Saturday in November from noon to 5 PM. The admission is free, but donations are always welcome. *THIS MONTH*Every Weekend in November, 2006 – Portland, Oregon – 2006 Columbia Gorge Model Railroad Club’s Annual Show. The Club will be open all 4 weekends in November. Dates for these shows are November 4-5, 2006, November 11-12, 2006, November 18-19, 2006, and November 25-26, 2006. The Club will be open from 10 AM to 5 PM. Admission Prices are $4 for Adults and $2 for Children ages 3 to 11. On Saturday November 11, 2006 Veterans can get in for free.

The Club is located at 2505 N Vancouver Ave. at the corner of N. Russell near Emmanuel Hospital. For more Information please call 503 28-Train (503-288-7246.) Snacks and Souvenirs are available in the Club room.

VIP Tours are available by reservation. They will start at 9 AM before each show starts. Each tour will show you over, under, and around the layout. Each Tour costs $10. For more information, or to make a reservation, please call 503-288-7246 and leave your name and phone number.

Saturday, December 2^nd, 2006 – Railroad Show and Swap Meet – This show will take place at the Polk Country Fairgrounds in Rickreall from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. There will be over 100 tables, kids layout to operate, all scales of trains, inexpensive food, and info on local historical societies and clubs. Admission will be $5.00 for adults and $1.00 for children ages 6 to 12 with free parking. Eight Foot tables will be available for $25.00 each. Friday through Sunday, December 8^th-10^th, 2006 - ORHF's Holiday Express – For more information visit: http://www.orhf.org/events/06holiday/index.html. This features the SP&S 700 and the SP 4449 starting at Oaks Park for a 40 minutes trip through the scenic Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge.

Saturday and Sunday, December 9^th & 10^th, 2006 – The LK&R Model Railroad Show and Swap Meet – This show is presented by the Longview Kelso and Rainier Model Railroad Club and will take place at the Riverside Community Church Gymnasium (303 3^rd Street Rainier, OR behind the Chevron station). The hours for the show will be 10-5 on Saturday and 12-5 on Sunday. Admission is $2 or $1 with a can of food. Concessions will be available by Riverside Community Church. A great time to pick up a little something for that railroader on your Christmas list!

Sunday, December 17^th, 2006 – 7^th Annual Portland Chapter TCA Open House & Train Meet – This show will take place in the basement of the Aloha Mall (185^th Ave. and Tualatin Valley Highway) from Noon to 4:00 p.m. Open to the public with free admission. Oregon Food Bank donations are gladly accepted. Bring a can or box of food. See operating model train layouts in O-Gauge, G-Gauge, and Standard Gauge. Eight Train layouts will be operating simultaneously. There will be free parking, free toy train appraisals, and a free toy train maintenance clinic. Saturday, January 20^th, 2007 – Spokane, Portland & Seattle Railway Historical Society 2007 Swap Meet – This swap meet will be held at the Holiday Inn at 8439 NE Columbia BLVD in Portland, OR from 10AM to 3PM. Vendor set-up will start at 7AM with 8’ tables for $19 each. For more information email Bruce Barney at bcbarney@msn.com.

Saturday, February 24^th, 2007 – 22^nd Annual Railroad Swap Meet – This is the Camp Withycombe Armory show and will take place from 10AM to 3PM. Admission is free (donations gladly accepted) and parking is free.
