- Puget
Sound Steam Special Documentary -
Coming to a theater near you,
Legends of Steam by Marcam Productions, a complete documentary on the
double-header steam train that ran between Portland, OR and Everett, WA last
May.
The event was captured in Hi-Def by a team of five, two of whom are locomotive
crew members. The team documented this historic first-ever public excursion led
by the UP 844 and SP 4449. You'll experience the fast-moving train from aboard
vintage cars, on the shores of Puget Sound, in the tunnel under downtown
Seattle, topped off with humorous rivalry between the Union Pacific and Southern
Pacific crew!
The showing will take place on the last day of the ORHF Holiday Express -- What
a way to start the day with a film on 4449/844 in a 400-seat theater, then see
and ride the Holiday Express pulled by the 4449 later in the afternoon!
Not only that, all profits from this showing benefits ORHF, whose mission is to
build a new home for Portland's three steam locomotives. This couldn't get any
better!
Date:
Sunday 12/16/07
Time: 10:30 - Noon
Admissions: $6
(movie only)
Location: 616 NW 21st - Portland, OR 97209
